9A- Testing the hypothesis part 2

Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Who: My Targeted market is those who are often losing their remotes. I have realized this may not be a problem for those who don’t watch tv often or do not have things that must have a remote to work. Also those who use a universal remote. Universal remotes can work for multiple things at once but my “Find your remote” feature may not be feasible when it comes to this type of remote.

What: The need for my invention is based on those who have multiple remotes to keep track of. However, this is not everyone’s common issue. College students may live in a one bedroom with only one remote that is easy to keep track of as to where a whole family may live in a 6 bedroom home with countless of remotes that they lose on a daily basis. Those who live in small spaces that are easy to search in or those who do not use electronics as much will not have the same needs as those in my target market.

Why: Those outside my target market and those within it do not differ by much. There are just people who need my product more than others. While almost everyone uses electronics these days, not everyone will need my feature. Those who live in small spaces and use less electronics will not find a strong need for the “find remote” button as much as those who have a lot of space to cover and many remotes to find.

Insider
Outsider
WHO
Those who lose their remotes often

Those who have a large space to cover and cannot simply just find their remote without assistance

Those with multiple remotes to keep track of
Those who keep track of their remotes at all times

Those who reside is small areas and finding a remote is quick in easy

Those who do not have many remotes to track/none at all.
WHAT
Need for their remotes to operate a different product to work
Need for a bigger space or more remotes.
WHY
People do not want/ do not have time to search around for their remotes. If a simple “Find remote” feature were installed, life would be made simpler
People could still use this feature but its not a need. A big percentage of people cannot afford a TV so this would just be useless for them.
