12A- Figuring out buyer behavior

1.      Home owners/Business owners who have troubles keeping track of their remotes/finding lost ones.
2&3. Interviews:
a.      Interviewee #1: This man, who lives in his own home with 5 different Tvs can never find his remotes. With each person in his house hold constantly losing their remotes in their bedrooms, he’s constantly tearing up the place to find them again. He mentioned he has had to buy new remotes several times because when one goes missing, someone in his house steals a different one from a different room and uses it for themselves. He mentioned he would invest a lot of money into my tvs with the “Find remote” button.
b.      Interviewee #2: This woman, who works at Ale House mentioned they are always losing their remotes or mixing them up. With over 20 TV’s in the bar and such a large space to cover, remotes are frequently misplaced. My feature would be a big help at the end of the night and the beginning of their work shift when they are turning all their tv’s on.
c.      Interviewee #3: College student at UF said she is always losing her remote. With only one to keep track of, it shouldn’t be such a big problem but it is. Mentioned she has missed 15 minutes of the bachelor last time it came on because she couldn’t find her remote and she was extremely annoyed. My feature will ensure she’ll never miss a second of the bachelor ever again, she says.
4.      There’s only one thing they can do, and that is look for their remote. I am trying to end the frustration that comes with the search. There is no reason anyone should miss tv time because they are irresponsible. My feature will help them track their remote faster and easier than ever.
5.      I learned that a variety people have this unmet need. No matter where you live or where you work, you’ll always find a tv in your area. Keeping track of remotes shouldn’t be as hard as it is and this Is why I must end this hassle.
6.      I believe everyone is aware of their situation. Responsible or not, its bound to happen multiple times.

11A - Idea Napkin No.1

1)     My name is Gianna Caceres. My father, a business man, and his father before him, also a business man have bred me to have a complete entrepreneur mindset. Since day 1, I have been coming up with DIY solutions to my problems. By creating solutions to my problems using things around my home, I feel like I have wired my mind to completely think outside of the box. I aspire to become a business woman myself. My grandpa has always expressed the importance of doing things on your own and making something of yourself so that I am never left in someone else’s shadow. I feel like my business idea is something super small that will help out millions and that’s the best way to go about things. Coming up with something so minimal that anyone can think of and running with it before anyone else does.
2)     I am completely changing the television industry. I will be coming up with my own TV monitor that will help owners track down their remotes so they are no longer going through the stress of never finding theirs. By building a monitor that has it’s very own and unique, “Find Remote” button on the side of it, I will little by little change the game entirely. Everyone will want my tv over anyone else’s because it has one thing that no other TV does.
3)     I am selling this to everyone and anyone. Everyone faces the challenge of finding a lost remote. Anyone can benefit from this product.
4)     They care because everyone wants this frustration to end. Keeping track of all remotes in your home/place of business can be a hassle. Customers will pay me money because they area already purchasing tv’s. Why not buy mine for the same price with an added bonus.
5)     I have the find remote feature that no one else has. Not a single tv producer out there has this feature and this is how I know my business will flourish.

I believe my concept is strong. I am providing a service that no one else can. This is beyond its time and will start a revolution in television productions. I will be started a trend and in a few years, all tv’s will have this feature. It is a complete step into the future.

9A- Testing the hypothesis part 2

Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Who: My Targeted market is those who are often losing their remotes. I have realized this may not be a problem for those who don’t watch tv often or do not have things that must have a remote to work. Also those who use a universal remote. Universal remotes can work for multiple things at once but my “Find your remote” feature may not be feasible when it comes to this type of remote.

What: The need for my invention is based on those who have multiple remotes to keep track of. However, this is not everyone’s common issue. College students may live in a one bedroom with only one remote that is easy to keep track of as to where a whole family may live in a 6 bedroom home with countless of remotes that they lose on a daily basis. Those who live in small spaces that are easy to search in or those who do not use electronics as much will not have the same needs as those in my target market.

Why: Those outside my target market and those within it do not differ by much. There are just people who need my product more than others. While almost everyone uses electronics these days, not everyone will need my feature. Those who live in small spaces and use less electronics will not find a strong need for the “find remote” button as much as those who have a lot of space to cover and many remotes to find.

Insider
Outsider
WHO
Those who lose their remotes often

Those who have a large space to cover and cannot simply just find their remote without assistance

Those with multiple remotes to keep track of
Those who keep track of their remotes at all times

Those who reside is small areas and finding a remote is quick in easy

Those who do not have many remotes to track/none at all.
WHAT
Need for their remotes to operate a different product to work
Need for a bigger space or more remotes.
WHY
People do not want/ do not have time to search around for their remotes. If a simple “Find remote” feature were installed, life would be made simpler
People could still use this feature but its not a need. A big percentage of people cannot afford a TV so this would just be useless for them.

7A Testing the Hypothesis Pt, 1

Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

1)     Remotes are everywhere. TV’s, Toys, Cars, Music entertainment, the list goes on. With all these remotes to keep track of, you’re bound to lose them here and there. Installing a “Find Remote” feature to the item that needs a remote to work would be revolutionary. For the most part, everyone has a remote for something, all the different shapes and sizes makes it fairly easy to misplace and keep track of. Installing a “find remote” button will sound your remote and flash a light from the device in need of a remote. This will make finding remotes much easier and relieve the stress and frustration that comes with losing those pesky things.

2)

a.      Testing the WHO: Anyone who has a remote that is needed to operate a product (TV, Car, Toys etc)

b.      Testing the WHAT: Are all remotes hard to find? How often does one typically lose their remote? What is the harm of insurance? (Find Remote Button)

c.      Testing the WHY: Those who do not own remote powered items will find this a problem. Those are very organized with their remotes will not find this a problem either. But everyone else who owns remote powered items will find this feature very beneficial in the long run.
